Best Buy announced Monday that it will be giving away $1 million to college-bound teens. The company plans on divvying the money out in one-time $1,000 grants to ninth through 12-graders.
According to a company release, Best Buy will chose the winners based on “outstanding commitment to and involvement in community service or work experience, along with a solid academic performance.”
The @15 program has given away more than $9.5 million since fiscal year 2006, according to a U.S. Chamber of Commerce profile of Best Buy.
Scholarship applications are due Feb. 15, and winners will be announced in May.
Now I am off to find more free samples for us to get in the mail. Yeah!
