I just heard about Cash for Clunkers or also known as the Government Car Rebate Allowance.
Program Description:
President Obama will sign into law a program NHTSA is calling the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS). This is a government program that helps you purchase a new, more fuel efficient vehicle when you trade in a less fuel efficient vehicle. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more details.
Under the CARS program, NHTSA is charged with developing rules for program implementation in 30 days. You may want to contact your local dealer in mid-July. See the Program Rollout.
5 Important things to know about the Cash for clunkers, car rebate allowance program.
- Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
- Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
- Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements)
- Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in
- You don’t need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase

Free stickers
Sundiwear stickers are an easy, and fun way that takes the guesswork out of knowing when you should reapply sunscreen to yourself or children for improved protection against sun-caused skin damage and sunburn. (Note: Sunscreen should not be used on children under the age of six months.)
Light-sensitive Sundiwear stickers can be safely applied to skin, clothing, hats, handbags, backpacks and uniforms — any item that will stay with you in the sun.
(To avoid a potential choking hazard, Sundiwear stickers should never be applied directly on or within reach of children less than 3 years old.)
To use a Sundiwear sticker, follow these simple instructions:
- Apply sunscreen, then peel a single Sundiwear sticker from the protective backing and place on skin, clothing or an article that will be with you in full sunlight.
- Peel off the protective covering to activate your Sundiwear sticker.
- A blue ring appears around the design to tell you that your Sundiwear sticker is activated. Your sticker then begins to measure the strength of the sun’s UV rays under actual climate conditions.
- The design on your Sundiwear sticker will gradually change color from yellow to red to show your sunscreen’s remaining effectiveness. When the yellow changes to red, your sunscreen is no longer working and you should immediately reapply sunscreen. Remember to also replace your single-use Sundiwear sticker with a fresh one at that time.
- It is not recommended that a Sundiwear sticker remain on after it is no longer active.
- To learn all about the best ways to avoid damage from the sun, visit the American Cancer Society website and click on SUN SAFETY. (http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/PED_7.asp)
